J.E.E. Party: Black & Gold 30th Birthday Party at Strip Atlanta

I had a great time working with Tameika on her Black and Gold 30th Birthday Party ! She currently serves in the Air Force and lives in Germany so a lot of our communication was done by email. The inspiration was Great Gatsby Glamour and I wanted to bring in a lot of geometric patterns and layers. Overall, I think the end result was just what she imagined ! I actually stayed for the party and had a great time meeting Tameika’s family and friends. Check it out her testimonial below and enjoy the pics.

My dinner party was the BOMB! I was looking for someone local to plan my party, while living in Germany when I contacted Janel. She took the dinner party to another level, my guest were Wowed by everything. She took all my ideas and mashed them up into an awesome design proposal. Everything went well together and flowed so beautifully. Janel was accessible by phone and email at all times, so the challenge of me living in Germany was easily overcome. There was so much attention to the small details of the event. Thank you Janel, I enjoyed the party and so did my guests. If you’re considering an event planner, don’t think just do it! You won’t regret hiring Janel Elise Events.

Wedding Broom Decorating Ideas

Hey yall, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog (I’ve been super busy) but I wanted to talk a little bit about decorating your Wedding Broom for the Jumping the Broom Ceremony.

Jumping the Broom is a long standing wedding tradition that symbolizes  jumping into a new beginning and sweeping away the past.

I was asked by my April Bride to decorate her Wedding Broom and since I LOVE a good DIY Project I was happy to help. Here’s a Before and After Picture:

broom (2)

It was super easy ! You can purchase the broom, ribbon, craft wire and floral pins all under $15 from any craft store.  I just wrapped the ribbon around the stem of the broom and secured it with the floral pins. (J.E.E. Tip- Pins work better than hot glue). Then I created a large bow at the base of the broom using wired edge ribbon and secured the bow with craft wire. If you’re not sure how to create a large bow just watch a how-to video on You Tube.

Wedding Broom Designs can be as elaborate or as simple as you want ! Check out some of these examples -

JEE Tip: Don’t forget to have your Wedding Officiant explain of the significance of the Jumping the Broom ceremony to your wedding guests before you take the leap !
